Welcome to Agua Dulce

With a name literally meaning "sweet water" in Spanish, Agua Dulce's earliest history includes settlements by the semi-nomadic Native American tribe, the Tataviam. The town is home to one of the most identifiable and frequently filmed locations in existence - Vasquez Rocks. The area was named for well-known bandit, Tiburcio Vasquez, who hid from authorities among its jagged stone columns in 1874. Grape growers have moved into Agua Dulce in recent years and opened wineries, while many residents maintain property for horseback riding.
